Coach the Coach

We created a class to help those who will be coaches or trainers by taking stock of our own experiences in these situations. The first section features an abbreviated version of "Understanding Myself & Others." This helps participants understand behavioral styles and how to best "reach" their trainees.

The remainder of the day is a combination of activities and "nuggets of wisdom" learned first hand by Deasy & Associates' Coaching Staff. The activities are specifically designed to highlight the strengths and stretches of the new coaches. The attendees leave the class armed with new coaching skills and and an action plan to help continue their growth

Chart Interpretation

So you went to the IPM Certification Level II - Silver course, but you didn't use all the tools you learned in those four days right away. As the adage goes, "use it or lose it." Or maybe you had a little bit of basic statistics here and there and it is tough to piece it together in your mind now. This class will remind you of the principles of basic statistics that will help run your process better. In addition, it takes an in depth look at the interpretation of histograms, run charts, box plots, control charts and Cp/Cpk. Whenever possible, your process data is used.

Building Bridges to Understanding - Diversity Awareness

This course is based on the confidential, self-administered Discovering Diversity Profile®. Building Bridges to Understanding begins the diversity initiative on the personal rather than the group level. Course content and activities simplify complex issues to increase understanding. The self-assessment helps you to discover your personal comfort level with people who are different from you and to create personal strategies to respond effectively to diversity issues. Depending upon the amount of sharing in the group, Building Bridges to Understanding can help create a common approach to dealing with potentially sensitive situations.

Conflict Management

A Module of Provant Media's Management Solutions series, this course encourages employees to embrace teamwork by presenting them with the skills to solve conflict with minimum management intervention. We help participants understand the barriers to resolving conflict and the different types of conflict so that they may apply the resolution methodology to fit the situation. The conflict resolution model emphasizes understanding both points of view, allowing time to vent and neutralize emotions, listening without being argumentative or judgmental and using follow-up to ensure success. This session truly helps contribute to a positive corporate environment by giving employees the understanding and language needed to take responsibility, act respectfully and preserve working relationships.

Effective Listening

Good communication depends on more than effective speakers. Effective listeners are needed to complete the communication equation. Managing Successful Meetings

This popular course is a combination of the Conflict Management training detailed above and Meeting Management Skills that Deasy & Associates' trainers have had to learn the hard way. Participants will learn not only how to conduct a successful meeting, but also the importance of meeting preparation and follow-up. Class exercises include practice creating agendas and action plans. Attendees will leave the course understanding how to use agendas, action plans, waterfall charts, "parking lots" and conflict management to facilitate a successful meeting.
